The trailer hitching from enabling spark advance activation was fixed by adding another routine to interpolate between both tables using steps — not just an on/off switch of High Octane to Idle, or the additional Coastdown Timing table that was added (like E38 / E67).
The strategy also filters the idle timing table so it stays smooth. If RPM jumps ~300 from one frame to the next, it walks the table instead of swinging timing hard at idle. That smooths idle and the transitions in and out of idle — and makes launching from vehicle speed = 0 much cleaner.
After a calibratable speed, all idle airflow corrections are disabled so idle learning does not go wrong. Only idle timing correction remains, which holds desired idle as long as APP = 0.
