Part 2: Idle Airflow & Minimum Idle Airflow table

Idle is just a strangling of airflow. Most engines make 6–20 hp at idle, depending on RPM and load.

With a bigger cam, we go into the Minimum Idle Airflow table and usually add about 50% more airflow. But that table just sets a floor, not a target. If the commanded airflow is higher, the table has no effect.
